You can’t please all of the people all of the time. John Kennedy said that a long time ago. He was right of course. Even hardened professionals know that finding the right audience is the secret because, no matter how good you are, not everyone is going to think you sing well. Just a fact of life. But there will always be a few, and sometimes more, who not only enjoy what you do, but are moved, inspired by your contribution. For them you sing, all the time. And for them you work a little harder at getting better at what you do so that, maybe, with time, that audience grows. The important part is just getting up there and doing it. Finding the courage to let it all out. It is good for those who enjoy, and good for the one who has the guts to just do it.
